By
the late 2000s, the Darien Motor Lodge had the distinction of
being the second to last Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge featuring
an Orange Roofed A-frame Gate Lodge topped with a cupola--complete
with its Lamplighter weather vane. After is demoltion in November
of 2008 only Harrisburg
remained.
