Re-clad in turquoise colored metal roofing material, by 2006 the facade at Windsor Locks had been rendered less interesting than its original configuration.

Having amazingly survived for more than thirty years in reasonably good condition (perhaps due to its relative isolation from criminal elements that often inhabit lodging facilities that have been passed by), Windsor Locks had reclaimed the Howard Johnson name by the middle 2000s. Its towering highway sign was refaced, and modest enhancements were made to the property.

It was a difficult and short-lived road for the resurrected HoJo's at Windsor Locks, for it lost the HJ name shortly after it had reclaimed it!

The owners of Windsor Locks abandoned the Howard Johnson name by early 2008 renaming their property the Beverly Hills Suites. Apparently desperate to have a return on their investment they stooped to knew lows renting the property out to swingers' groups!

A sting operating in November of 2008 resulted in the arrest of one of the property's owners and the hotel was cited with several violations. Others involved were charged with obscenity and public indecency.
