One
of the last two Howard Johnson's built in Connecticut, Westbrook
was opened in 1978. The Howard Johnson Company opened it and North
Stonington during a brief expansion attempt at the end of the
1970s.
It
was a standard Mansard-type, and was well sited facing the Interstate.
The unit remained an Orange roofed HoJo's until 1985. For a period
of time it operated as a local eatery called Andy's and then was
remodeled and rebranded a Denny's. |
