Lasting
not quite fourteen years under the Orange Roof, Stamford was
converted like Long
Wharf--first into a Suisse Chalet brand next a Fairfield
Inn and by the late 2000s into a LaQuinta. Along the way its
Restaurant became diner-esque. |

Although
the property had seen many changes by the early 2000s, Phil
Edwards discovered that the original but painted-blue-Mansard
still marked the lobby. Moreover the gold "lobby"
letters dated from the hotel's HoJo's days! |
