Built
in Howard Johnson's classic modern style, Gainesville-Downtown opened
in about 1961. Its original fifty guest rooms were configured in
both one and two-story exterior entry buildings in a U anchored
by the Gate Lodge on one side and the Restaurant on the other.
1988
marked its last year to fly the HoJo banner. Upon relinquishing
its name, the Motor Lodge became first a Days Inn and then later
a Knights Inn. |
