Hollywood Beach, Florida -- 2501 N Ocean Dr

Built in 1969, the Hollywood Beach location was almost directly on the Atlantic Ocean -- only the concrete "boardwalk" separated it from the beach. While it was a blocky almost unattractive high-rise, it featured standard Howard Johnson's guest rooms and a classic "T" style Restaurant facing North Ocean Drive. There was never a Gate Lodge or separate lobby.

Jumping ahead, these photos show the Restaurant after it had been closed and the Motor Lodge in limbo while it operated as the Hollywood Beach Inn.
