Even
as its setting changed once Interstate 75 was opened and Ocala-North
was built, the Ocala-South Motor Lodge and Restaurant continued
as a Howard Johnson's until the end of the 1970s. After that its
fortunes waned. The Restaurant likely suffered a succession of
local establishments before last being used a a used car lot--by
the middle 2000s no trace of the Restaurant remained. Amazingly
the Motor Lodge continued to offer lodging as the Royal Inn. |
