A vintage 1965 location, the Sarasota-South Motor Lodge and Restaurant complex was built to complement the older Sarasota-Airport facility and to capture travelers on the south side of Sarasota's tourist mecca.

With just 56 rooms in its two guest buildings the Motor Lodge was relatively compact. It featured single rooms with faux balconies in the parking lot sides of the buildings and standard double room with full balconies and patios poolside.
