Having
opened in the winter 1964, Cedar Rapids was the third Howard
Johnson's complex in the Hawkeye State. Built in a typical
classic Motor Lodge and Restaurant configuration the site
was purged in 1982.

The
Cedar Rapids Restaurant was at some point converted into a Country
Kitchen and remained such by the middle 2000s (apparently the
Motor Lodge never operated as a Country Inn). |
