Because
Cedar Rapids lost the HJ name early on, its signature A-frame
Gate Lodge was neither decapitated nor squared off. However it
eventually did suffer from modifications--the worst offense was
the replacement of its expansive windows with unsightly siding.
Nonetheless with a little imagination, the Gate Lodge is still
a welcoming sight! |

While
the exterior of the Gate Lodge remained true to its form, the
interior was a hodgepodge of modifications that rendered it
less than appealing. |
