Having long ago ceased being a Howard Johnson's Restaurant, the former Council Bluffs unit retained many recognizable HoJo's architectural cues. Even serving as an car pawn shop, the Nims shape and even a decorative concrete block "wing" wall (albeit painted a garish yellow) remained at the site as recently as the middle 2000s.
