Opened in late
1953 or early 1954 on what is called "the strip," the
HoJo's in Henderson was adjacent to the Kentucky Terrace Motel
which featured wall-to-wall carpeting and powder rooms for its
lucky guests!
Heath Gross, who took
all of the current day shots of this former HJ shown here, fondly
recalls when he was a child partaking in the pleasures of some
of the 28 Flavors that this location once served. He reports
that today nothing at the site shown in the vintage postcard
is the same except that the old Howard Johnson's building still
stands!
