Postcard circa 1960s: Kummerlowe

Henderson, Kentucky -- 2810 US 41 N

Opened in about 1954 on what is locally called "the strip," the Howard Johnson's Restaurant in Henderson was adjacent to the Kentucky Terrace Motel which featured wall-to-wall carpeting and powder rooms for its lucky guests!

According to researcher, Heath Gross, both the Evansville, Indiana and Henderson Restaurants were managed by John Goodsen and enjoyed common ownership. Furthermore Mr. Gross fondly recalls that when he was a child he sampled many of the 28 Flavors of ice cream that the Henderson HoJo's once served!
