Listed on eBay, the Millington, Maryland Howard Johnson's Restaurant was to be auctioned on Tuesday March 8, 2005. The Restaurant was also listed on ExpressAuction.com. The listing indicated that Millington's owner was retiring following the demise of Franchise Associates Inc., franchisor of Howard Johnson's Restaurants
 

PUBLIC AUCTION TUES MARCH 8 TH AT 1:00 P.M.

Subject property is a one story 7,333 +/- sq ft building situated on 6.7 +/- acres.
The Howard Johnson organization has been dissolved and as a result any potential purchaser could continue to operate the restaurant under that name without the burden of franchise fees. There is a diner style bar area, a restaurant area consisting of 17 booths, 6 tables, and a bar area. The bar area has a window that opens to the banquet hall. The banquet hall is roughly 31' +/- by 22' +/-. Originally constructed in 1958 and fully renovated in 1986. There is a free standing electrified sign, yard lighting, deep water well with public water available within the next year. The macadam parking lot has room for 82 +/- cars.

The property is located in Millington MD on the Delmarva peninsula at the high trafficked intersection of 291 and 301. The property is less than 1 mile north of Chester River which serves as the border between Kent and Queen Annes Counties. Less than 40 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and less than 45 miles from Wilmington, DE
