The Motor Lodge had become a veritable time capsule by the early 2000s!

According to employees, the rooms were mainly occupied by truckers and others referred to simply as "regulars."

Advertising the site's Feb. 17, 2007 auction date, Brzostek's Auction Service, Inc. posted several photos showing some of the furnishings that were being offered for sale in the 80 room Motor Lodge.

After relinquishing the Howard Johnson's name in 1984, the Motor Lodge came to be known as the Exit 53 Motor Lodge and then briefly wore the America's Best Value Inn moniker before reverting to the Exit 53 name.
