Just opened in the Spring
of 1967, Glens Falls was sited immediately along the Northway--I-87.
Traveling north or south it was easy to spot the gleaming Orange
Roofs of the Restaurant and 121 guest room complex. |

The Motor Lodge
featured an indoor all weather activity area that included the
Gatsby swimming pool, jacuzzi, and poolside lounge. The lounge
featured "razzle-dazzle '20s cocktails!" |

In addition to the Howard
Johnson's Restaurant, the Motor Lodge also featured its own called
the Blacksmith Shop Steakhouse. Its sign used a coach that looks
like it may have come from a Red Coach Grill. By the time Dan
and I arrived on the scene in 2001, the coach had been removed
from the closed complex. |
