Horseheads featured
an early A-frame Gate Lodge. The Company decide in 1959 to abandon
the Nims "ranch" type in favor of the A-frame. This
one was "squat" when compared to the ones that were
built throughout the 1960s. |

Amazingly the Gate
Lodge at Horseheads has survived (2005). Its owners saw fit to
install a "modern" Orange Roof even as they squared
it off. Additionally they did not install any of the silly "button"
lights. |
