Opened in the Spring
of 1972, the Saugerties Howard Johnson's was a relatively early
East Coast Mansard style HoJo's.
The Restaurant had long
ceased being a HoJo's by 2002, but its original porcelain enamel
roof tiles were still extant--painted green. The Restaurant was
unfortunately undergoing a radical remodel with its next proprietor
ripping up everything and depositing it all in the large green
dumpster that had been placed in front of the building.
