Saugerties,
New York
2764 Route 32 |
Jack Sheppard visited
Saugerties shortly before my visit and found the former Restaurant
closed, but still intact. However by the time of Jack Thomas'
visit the Restaurant had been completely transformed and had
reopened with an abbreviated Mansard. If there is irony it is
that the new mansard employed a redish roof covering making it
look somewhat HoJoish. |

Perhaps maintaining a
bit of its original dignity, the Motor Lodge retains (12-2004)
the Howard Johnson name. The Lodge even continues to use its
original lobby and sign frame. |
