Charlotte-Central, North Carolina -- 2400 Wilkinson Blvd

Originally scheduled to open in the fall of 1963 it was still "under construction" in 1964. The complex replaced an earlier stand-alone circa 1951 Restaurant that had been built across the street at 2401 Wilkinson Boulevard adjacent to the Catalina Motor Lodge. That original location was likely torn down soon after the new Restaurant and Motor Lodge were open.

Charlotte-Central ceased operating as a Howard Johnson's in 1989. The 114 unit Motor Lodge included two 3-story guest wings. One of the buildings incorporated covered parking on the ground level with guest rooms on the top two floors.
