When this 100th Motor
Lodge opened in 1960, it was described as follows:
This luxurious 77
unit is located in one of the most desirable locations of the
nation--on a main artery between Akron and Cleveland, Ohio--directly
across from the North Randall Race Track in the center of many
recreational facilities, amusement parks, golf courses, theaters,
and within walking distance of Ohio's two other famous race tracks,
North Field park Harness Track and Thistledown Racing Club. Only
fifteen minutes away is Akron's world famous Ascot Park Track.
No evidence of the adjacent
Restaurant remains. The historic 100th Motor Lodge lost the Howard
Johnson name in 1985 only to regain it briefly in the early 1990s.
By 2004 it had been converted into a Cendant branded Knight's
Inn.
