TV today from the world of tomorrow: In keeping with HoJo's cutting edge image, space-age Philco Predictas were installed in each of the Motor Lodge's guest rooms. While the Gettysburg guest rooms did not have Pamper Panels, they did feature early versions of typical if not quite standard Howard Johnson's amenities. Based on these vintage views the Motor Lodge featured an interesting array of room layouts.

Below: The Cabana Room section behind the swimming pool offered well-appointed rooms described as suites.

"Features of the new Lodge are spacious rooms, all air-conditioned for summer and all individually electrically heated for year 'round comfort. Each room has private telephone, television or continuous music if preferred."

Above: Of the guest bathrooms Paul Witt reported that "The Cabana bathroom wall tiles were high gloss black with gold flecks. The floor tiles were 1 inch multi color, mostly earth tones."

Above: Retrofitted with kitchenettes, some of Gettysburg's rooms appealed to longer term guests or those who preferred to prepare their own meals.

Below: Boasting standardized 1970s HoJo's decor, rooms had been redecorated with bold patterned privacy screens and wall-to-wall high pile shag carpet.

Lower: By the 1990s the paneling, shag, and geometric patterned privacy screens were gone, for rooms were updated to reflect the more conservative tastes of that decade.
