Erie, Pennsylvania
2832 W.
Eighth St. |
Most likely opened
in 1951, this location remained a stand-alone Restaurant. About
ten years later Erie would have a Motor Lodge/Restaurant along I-90. Amazingly
the circa 1951 neo-colonial Restaurant remained a Howard Johnson's
until the middle 1980s.
Late in 2003 Phil Edwards discovered
that this former HJ was converted in to a Quaker Steak &
Lube. While he reported that the original building still stands,
it is nearly unrecognizable.
