The
Columbia-North Restaurant was among an early group of the "T"
style buildings. Based on the larger prototypes built in Atlanta,
Dallas,
Miami,
and its close cousin in Ft.
Lauderdale, its elevation became a familiar sight at highway
interchanges throughout the land. Although the design was ubiquitous
and examples were even found in Ontario and New Brunswick, it
was especially common in the South.

Although
vacant for a period of time, the former Howard Johnson's Restaurant
was spotted in 2006 by Tom operating as an Indian type eatery.
He recalled that the location always had a simple sign not unlike
the one that advertised the Bombay Bistro upon his last visit
to the site.
