The only Motor
Lodge to open in Utah, Salt Lake City featured 226 guest rooms
in its 13 floors. It opened in 1973 near the heart of Mormondom,
and also had an attached Mansard Roof Howard Johnson's Restaurant. |

At great effort
and cost, Phil was able to get this much appreciated series of
photos as well as many others from Colorado and other places.
After having made one Round-the-West tour in 2003, he discovered
that a jar to his camera had rendered all of his photographs
blurry and out-of-focus. Discouraged but determined, he set out
again and retraced the exhaustive pilgrimage, re-documenting
and seeking out remains unknown! |
