After the Howard
Johnson Company was split apart by Marriott in 1985, the Restaurant
became a Big Boy. JB's was a Big Boy franchisee of Marriott's
in the region, but I do not know if it immediately became a JB's
Big Boy or operated as a Marriott owned location. At any rate,
Marriott gave away Big Boy, and JB's became completely independent
and separate from the few remaining Big Boy's
