Nearly bypassed after I-81 was completed, the Bristol complex fortunately was located not too far from an exit which ensured its longevity. Happily during its twilight as a HoJo's in the 1980s, my dad consented to an overnight and breakfast--it was quite a treat even near its end ...

years
Bristol was listed in Howard Johnson's directories from 1961 to 1987, and then again from 1992 until 1995. During the five years that it was not listed in directories, it's Restaurant remained a Howard Johnson's, but the Motor Lodge was called simply the Bristol Motor Lodge. Subsequently it has worn both the Scottish Inn and Red Carpet Inn brand names.
