Listed among the last of the Howard Johnson's Restaurants, Lynchburg or Madison Heights as it was called, lasted until the at least the middle 1990s.

Its last owner while a HoJo's was the Lewis Restaurant Corporation based in Lynchburg and run by Van Lewis, Bill Foster, John Jennings, and Kevin Middleton. Lewis Corp. also owned the Springfield Restaurant in its last hour.

Converted into an Aunt Sarah's Pancake House at the end of the 20th century, the former HoJo's was countrified and then went promptly out-of-business.

Below: The Lynchburg Restaurant was one of several that were remodeled during the middle to late 1970s when the Howard Johnson Company had embarked on a plan to increase average check totals by increasing sit-down dining space. Upon remodeling, Dairy bars were made into dining areas and bay windows such as Lynchburg's were installed.
