             Richard Collins
wrote that the Courtyard uses "the three original Howard
Johnson's guestroom buildings in a U shape surrounding three
sides of the swimming pool." He went on to add that a new
building was constructed on the pool's forth side that serves
to block a view of the pool from the road.
            Richard noted that a
bit of a puzzle exists about the original layout of the Motor
Lodge. He said that two of the guest room buildings were built
at ground level, while the third was elevated a few feet, possibly
indicating that the third building was added later after newer
            building codes had been adopted.

            Only a few visual clues
remain, like the stairs and the guest buildings |
