Classic Standard Design
The Motor Lodge was set up in the classic late 1960s layout offering 80 rooms in its two story guest buildings. Moreover it served to complement the Pensacola-West HoJo's which was the area's first such facility.

Converted into a Days Inn during late 1988, the former Motor Lodge retained its HoJo's layout and familiarity. Interestingly Pensacola-North's remodeled Gate Lodge greatly resembled what became of Tallahassee-East's.

Note the original circa 1968 patio chair seen to the left and below--I should have "liberated" it when I had the chance!

Hurricane Ivan's Wrath
Decimating the region, it struck September 16, 2004 wiping out much in its path. Pensacol-North suffered extensive damage and will have been one of the last motels to reopen along U.S. 29.

Note that prior to Hurricane Ivan's destruction, the Restaurant had been closed and demolished in order to make way for a car dealership sales office.
