UPDATE
June, 2005: Jack Thomas
reported that the building has been leveled to make way for a
Holiday Inn Express. He said that the site was littered with
Howard Johnson's artifacts, but that nearly everything had been
ruined during and after the demolition. Having been closed for
nearly 25 years the building had become an undisturbed time capsule--a
record of roadside commerce past. Unfortunately no one knew,
and now it's all gone. |
