Smaller
in size than a regular Howard Johnson's Restaurant,
Enid opened in the summer of 1978 as the second
"truck stop" location. The concept offered
a menu that was described as being oriented toward
truck drivers' preferences. Enid was like Sherman,
Texas which was a combination restaurant, gas
station, and convenience store--a concept which
predated the current proliferation of similar
outlets now provided by a host of retailers. |
