An Exercise in Modernity
The inviting guest units were built using conventional dry wall construction with 2" x 4" Wolmanized studs--plates and sleepers were used in the corridors, and Wolmanized 2" x 2" furring on the concrete block walls held the wall paneling.

From the outside, the old Motor Lodge looked like most others of its age--in fact it did look somewhat inviting. Many of the well thought-out Howard Johnson's features looked intact--even the landscaping pointed to past perfection.
