A remarkable run, the Hollins property did not give up its Howard Johnson's name until the purges of the middle 1980s. By 1986 it was listed in AAA Tourbooks as the Budget Motor Lodge--formerly Howard Johnson's. Apparently it remained as the Budget until its final end.

Below: Mr. Gravely's photo taken from where guests once entered their second floor rooms directly from the parking area showed that the Motor Lodge had been scooped away--no sign of the buildings remained--just scarred earth.
