For HoJo's purists, Breezewood's two-story guest building is a must see! While the original single-level Motor Lodge was pre-standard, the circa 1960s two-story section was built during the height of Howard Johnson's standardized expansion and maintained many familiar features even past the middle 2000s.

Built on a hillside, the two-story guest building offered patrons ground level room entry on both floors. Although it was an unusual feature, there were other Motor Lodges with two-story buildings which offered ground level access. See Salisbury, Asheville, and Hollins for other examples.
