The guest rooms
followed standard HoJo's layouts, but were perhaps a bit smaller
than rooms built a decade earlier. Even as it featured a simple
Pamper Panel, it was a very comfortable HoJo's room!
Alas, Ron Butler and
his sons have abandoned the Howard Johnson name and converted
their Motor Lodge into an uninspired Comfort Inn. In an interview
in 1997 for Delta's Sky magazine, Mr Butler predicted
that we would see the last Howard Johnson's restaurant go out
of business by 2007--his prediction laced with not a small amount
of insider information will likely come to pass.
